We work with local shelters and rescue groups to bring dogs into our Canine Achievement ProgramTM.
Dogs are accepted on a referral basis. The dogs coming into our program are those dogs that would have most likely been euthanized.
These are dogs that are hard to place due to extremely high drives (prey, hunt, toy) that most pet owners are unable or unwilling to contend with.
Canine Headquarters takes these dogs into their program and trains them in search and rescue and narcotics detection.
These dogs will only be adopted into homes that will continue their training, or will be referred to a law enforcement agency
for continued service work.
We also accept dogs into our four (4) week basic obedience program that are considered to be adoptable based on temperament, but are continually passed over for adoption, and need extra help in finding a caring and permanent home. These dogs will be trained in basic obedience and manners and will be introduced to agility if appropriate.
If you are interested in adopting a dog that has been through the CAP program then please contact us to arrange for an interview.
If you are a 501c3 rescue group or shelter that would like to refer a dog, then please contact us for an evaluation.
